Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about posting your car inventory to Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist & Nextdoor — on your computer and your phone.

The basics
What is ListingPilot?
ListingPilot copies a vehicle listing you're already viewing and posts it to several marketplaces at once. On your computer, a Chrome extension reads a car from AutoTrader, Cars.com or CarGurus and auto-fills a new listing on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and Nextdoor. On your phone, the Quick List tool lets you photograph a car, scan its VIN, and send it to your computer to post — no copy-pasting.
Which sites can I post from?
AutoTrader (.com and .ca), Cars.com, and CarGurus. Open any car's detail page on those sites and ListingPilot adds a “Post to Marketplace” button. You can also build a listing from scratch on your phone with Quick List.
Which marketplaces can I post to?
Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and Nextdoor. Pick which ones you want each time — the extension opens each site and fills in the details, photos and description for you.
Does it automatically publish my listing?
No — and that's on purpose. ListingPilot fills in every field, uploads your photos, and drops in the description, then you review it and click Publish. You're always in control, and it keeps you within each marketplace's rules.
Using it on your phone (Quick List)
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Open toooapp.com/compose on your phone (or tap “Quick List” on the site). Take photos or pick them from your album, edit them, scan or type the VIN, and let AI fill in the vehicle details and description.
How do I take photos and edit them?
Tap Take Photo to use your camera or From Album to pick existing shots. Tap any photo to open the editor: crop (preset ratios or a manual crop box you drag), rotate, adjust brightness/contrast/color, and add text right on the image. Great for cropping out a dealer plate or adding “SOLD”.
How does the VIN scan work?
Type the 17-character VIN and tap Decode, or photograph the VIN plate / window sticker and let AI read it. We look the VIN up against the official NHTSA database to fill in year, make, model, body style, fuel and more, then AI writes a clean listing description. A few things a VIN doesn't contain — like interior color and sometimes transmission — you add in one tap.
What does “Send to my computer” do?
It's the fastest way to post from your phone. Tap it and your finished listing (photos + details) is sent to your desktop, where the ListingPilot extension — signed in to the same account, with Facebook/Craigslist/Nextdoor open — automatically opens each site and fills it in within about 30 seconds. You just review and hit Publish.
Can I finish posting on the phone itself?
Yes. If you're not at a computer, tap Save photos + copy text (it saves your edited photos to your camera roll and copies the description), then open the marketplace app, start a new listing, add the photos and paste the text. Full one-tap auto-posting isn't possible from a phone because the marketplaces don't offer that to third parties — so we make the manual finish as fast as possible.
Pricing & trial
How much does it cost?
Start with a 7-day free trial — add a card, and you're not charged until day 8 (cancel anytime before then). After that it's a simple month-to-month plan; see Pricing for the current rate.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
Yes — you add a card to start the 7-day free trial, but you're not charged until day 8, and you can cancel anytime before then.
Can my whole team use one account?
Yes. You can invite team members from your dashboard so several salespeople can post under the same subscription.
Setup & troubleshooting
What do I need to get started?
Google Chrome on your computer, the ListingPilot extension installed and signed in, and your Facebook / Craigslist / Nextdoor accounts logged in in that browser. Download the extension from your dashboard after signing up.
The “Post to Marketplace” button didn't show up — why?
Make sure you're on a specific vehicle's detail page (not a search or home page) on a supported site (AutoTrader, Cars.com, CarGurus). These sites load slowly, so give it a few seconds. If it still doesn't appear, refresh the page.
Is this allowed by Facebook, Craigslist and Nextdoor?
ListingPilot is an independent tool that helps you fill in listings faster — it never posts anything without your review and final click. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta/Facebook, Craigslist, Nextdoor or any listing site. You're responsible for following each platform's posting rules.
What happens to my photos?
Your photos are used only to build and transfer the listing you're posting. When you post from your phone to your computer, the photos ride along so the extension can upload them to the marketplace. See our Privacy Policy for details.
